What we think
The men of Sideways couldn’t have even imagined Alila Napa Valley's (formerly Las Alcobas) version of Napa, it’s so cinematic and idyllic (yes, even for Napa). There are private fire pits, babbling brooks, and verdant vineyards stretched to the horizon. Even the simplest room on offer is a whopping 310 square feet, with a central freestanding soaking tub and king-sized bed swathed in Italian Rivolta Carmingna linens. We particularly love the spa, in an old farmhouse, where Naturopathica’s organic products make you feel as fresh as dew-covered grapes at dawn. The rumor is hangovers can be cured in an instant with their espresso coffee scrub, applied by fervent massage.

The Moment
Chef Chris Cosentino’s locavore menu at Acacia House offers everything you didn’t know you needed—starting with a chive french onion dip with smoked trout caviar and burrata that would make a nonni cry. But in wine country, it’s the cocktails that will have you canceling that reservation at The French Laundry so you can come here again (specifically the aster, with hibiscus infused bourbon, pomegranate juice, lemon and frothy egg white).
