Sharm Ash Sheikh, Egypt
Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh
Seafront Stunner
What it is
A garden and palm fringed resort on the Red Sea with a private beach, 12 airy restaurants and bars, a spa inspired by Egyptian royals, and yacht charters.
What it isn't
Teensy. The resort was newly expanded and is nothing short of ginormous, with 52 expansive suites and revamped guest rooms.
What we think
Divers have long flocked to Sharm El Sheikh for its jaw-dropping underwater sights, including wreck dives to Dunraven—a British boat that sank in 1896—to the reefs of Ras Mohammed National Park. But if you’re looking to dip your toe into diving (or give it a whirl with the kids), look no further than Four Seasons, where pros aplenty are on staff at the Dive Centre and the resort even maintains its own private house reef as a training option. Of course, if you’d rather stay firmly rooted on dry land, this is the spot, too. Guest rooms are extraordinary and locally inspired, with ornate carved arches and two separate lounges (one indoors, and one al fresco overlooking many of the resort’s 3,000 palm trees). Even the most basic room category here is fit for a pharaoh, beginning at 807 square feet; for even more spaciousness, we love the Two-Bedroom Residential Suite Sea View, which has a full kitchenette that can be especially handy for families and friend groups.
You're here because
You love swimming amid bioluminescence, which feels like bathing in the stars—often available right in the resort’s own private reef.
The Moment
From your seat beside the open kitchen at Zitouni, you’re not sure you’ve ever tasted such fervently authentic Lebanese dishes outside of Beirut. Tonight, the fattoush drizzled with pomegranate molasses has you salivating…as do the flame-baked manakish (pizza) with Kashkaval cheese.
