Banyan Tree Seychelles

Buttoned Up Paradise

What it is

A collection of 60 colonial villas on a rainforest-swathed isle, with a rum shack beach bar, Banyan Tree spa and infinity pools that seem to stretch to the horizon.

What it isn't

Self-centered. You’ll find a Wildlife Conservation and Rehabilitation Center on the premises, a boon for adjacent wetlands.

What we think

Comfort is key at Banyan Tree Seychelles—specifically, guest comfort. In lieu of the cold, ultra-modernist seafront resorts that are currently on-trend but we’d wager won’t stand the test of time, here you’ll find cozy colonial-inspired villas—all soaring open-beam ceilings, creamy shutters and mahogany furniture. Everything you could need— including allergy-free bedding, DVD-players, loofah sponges, insect repellant, even humidifiers—is waiting for you in your room, so you needn’t lift a finger if you need anything at all. Don’t miss the holistic spa, where locally-inspired treatments include grated coconut and fresh milk scrubs.

You're here because

They’re as green as the surrounding rainforest, thanks to a fervent sustainability program that has them nearly plastic-free, cleaning local communities and rehabilitating local wildlife. And thank heavens, because you’d hate to spoil paradise.

The Moment

The resort’s restaurants offer everything from Thai to Creole to Arabic cuisine, but tonight, only one thing will set your pulse racing: sipping a cocktail at the seafront Rum Shack with your feet in the sand, the Indian Ocean set out before you as the ultimate scene setter.

Location

Just a 30 minute ride from Seychelles International Airport. The jetty with multiple ferries a day to neighboring isles (like Praslin Island, where Praslin National Park lures) is 45 minutes away.
