Park Hyatt Siem Reap

Royal Respite

What it is

A 104-room hideaway with generously sized rooms, a palm-flanked lagoon inspired pool, and an unforgettable spa.

What it isn't

Missing anything. Sure, you’re on the other side of the globe, but you’ve got everything from FedEx shipping services to turbo-fast WiFi at your service.

What we think

Siem Reap is a treasure trove of sights that make you want to pinch yourself, including so many towering ancient temples you’ll feel like a God strolling a new, jungle-swathed earth (and Angkor Wat is only the beginning). It can be difficult for a mere hotel to live up to the hype, stylistically, but Park Hyatt Siem Reap does all that and more, thanks to its Angkorian ruin-inspired architecture by Bangkok-based Bill Bensley. Rooms tend to be on the ginormous size (opt for a Deluxe for 581-square-feet to roam); we love that guests have access to the air-conditioning, not to mention perks like an integrated media hub and rain shower that—if you squint—can make you feel like you’re taking in a monsoon in the leafy wilds beyond.

You're here because

Hotel staffers have arranged several only-in-Siem Reap experiences you can’t get anywhere else, including joining the chef for an afternoon of Num Banh Choc rice noodle making at a nearby market and a six-course dinner that showcases honey from six Cambodian provinces.

The Moment

Turmeric’s all the rage these days—and yes, you’re popping the requisite turmeric pills, thanks to your nutritionist. But you never considered its anti-aging effect on the skin until you begin your Turmeric & Mint scrub in the glorious spa, and emerge an hour later with a literal new body, like a butterfly from the chrysalis.

Restaurants & Bars

The Dining Room - A stylish and residential space offering a selection of French "au provencal" and Cambodian dishes crafted from traditional recipes.

The Glasshouse Deli. Patisserie - Freshly made sandwiches, pizzas and homemade ice cream

The Living Room - The chic, bar-lounge has been decorated with custom furniture and plush sofas to make a intimate, residential feel. Enjoy signature cocktails and a light selection of comfort food, afternoon tea is also served.

Location

Downtown Siem Reap, five blocks walk from the Royal Residence and, more importantly, the 1950s Royal Independence Gardens, home to what feels like equal parts shrines and...bats.
