Buahan, A Banyan Tree Escape
A Treetop Escape
What we think
Skylark only includes hotels that meet our stamp of approval. Our editorial review for this one isn’t ready yet — but we’re working on it! Below is the hotel’s own description.
Located nearby the small Buahan village and nested behind infinite layers of impenetrable flora in the heart of the Balinese jungle with glimpses of rice fields, is Buahan, Banyan Tree Escape, a 40-minute drive from the north of Ubud. Stretching over a site far out of the commercial areas, where you can contemplate the unobstructed views of the seven peak mountains, have access to the Ayung River and stroll its untouched waterfall. With Buahan’s signature “no walls, no doors” concept, it’s easy to soak in the region’s lush beauty from practically anywhere in the resort. Each of the 16 open-air villas feature a private pool and naturally sourced materials. The Open Table restaurant, with its zero-waste menu, serves up primarily plant-based garden-to-table cuisine. And in the Toja Spa overlooking the Balinese jungle, you’ll find dozens of locally inspired treatments designed to nurture your connection to the outdoors.
