Niseko, Japan
Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono
Sleek on the Slopes
What it is
A 100-room modern mountain retreat with 11 stunning restaurants, a spa stocked with private onsen (hot springs), and ski-in, ski-out access right on the property.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. Guests can expect no holds barred pampering, from the doting ski valet to the in-the-know concierges.
What we think
Ski bunnies across the globe flock to Hokkaido for its fluffy, powdery snow and consistently well-groomed ski resorts. All that alpine luxury was brought inside at Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono, where guest rooms are nothing less than ginormous (starting at a whopping 699 square feet). But that’s only the beginning of the amenities here: you’ll also be indulged with floor to ceiling glass windows, deep soaking tubs and rain showers, a Japanese teapot, BOSE speakers, and serene and neutral interior design that looks at once classic and decidedly “now.” While every room option here feels like a suite given their size and perks, we particularly love the Park Suite Deluxe with Onsen for its fully separate living and dining spaces overlooking the slopes—not to mention the private onsen (hot springs) set overlooking a glass wall with mountain views, an ideal place to steep after a ski day.
You're here because
You love a bit of hand-holding on vacay, and they’ll help with all your activities—whether you want to take the kids to ski school or go wild with karaoke.
The Moment
You were instantly impressed by the 8,500 bottles available at Teppan, an oenophile favorite restaurant. But it’s the French menu that really has you salivating, including Shiraoi wagyu beef sirloin and Hokkaido abalone with smoked soy sauce and butter.
