Baa Atoll, Maldives
Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru
Jungle Queen
What it is
An IRL island paradise, where 103 thatch-roofed bungalows and an Ayurvedic spa preside over 44 leafy and pristine acres.
What it isn't
Nowheresville. Sure, you’re in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but you’re also inhabiting a literal UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve.
What we think
We don’t really understand why billionaires even consider buying their own private islands—not when places like Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru exist. Here, on a perfectly manicured patch of white sand and jungly forest, heaven exists. Guests can partake in all manner of honeymoon-worthy exploits here: piloting an underwater submarine with a 360-degree view of the dolphins, sharks and turtles that flit around Baa Atoll; when night falls; steeping in a candle-decked outdoor bed before reclining with a glass of bubbly on a swinging bed; or swimming with the world’s largest group of manta rays alongside an expert on the species. And sure, the accommodations are as dreamy as you’d expect—with open-air pavilions and overwater villas complete with their own infinity pools—but if you spend most of your time adventuring, we won’t blame you.
You're here because
Celebs like Brad Pitt and David Beckham have reportedly stayed here (though not together!). And what’s good enough for Brad and Becks is good enough for you.
The Moment
You never imagined having some of the best Italian food of your life on a water-locked island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, but here you are. Sitting under a white lattice wood awning at Blu, you opt for lobster tagliolini and reef fish, served in white wine with baby vegetables in parchment cartoccio, and secretly wonder if they have an Italian nonni back there helping the chefs. Deliziosa!
