What we think

Blasé interiors just won’t do in Thailand, where the lush topography and Crayola-bright colors create cinematic scenes everywhere you look. So designer Jamie Hayon and The Standard’s own in-house decor team turned this new high-rise hotel into a showstopper—where no design detail is too small (or too big, as evidenced by the oversized woven rattan light fixtures dangling overhead in the lobby). Guest rooms feature curves in all the right places—on the headboards, mirrors, and channel-tufted corner banquettes—as well as perks like Bang & Olufsen bluetooth speakers and toiletries from B-corp certified organic brand Davines. If you’re staying awhile or feel like a splurge, we recommend the Balcony Suite—which has an al fresco terrace peeping out on the skyline, separate living room and a spa-like bathroom with a soaking tub and a rain shower that feels like a blissful version of Thailand’s monsoon season.
