Koh Samui, Thailand
Cape Fahn Hotel
Private Island Fantasy
What it is
A private island off the coast of Samui with 22 villas and every amenity one could dream of, including a Thai spa, white sand beach and yacht for exploring nearby coves.
What it isn't
Just for liaising about (although if that’s what you’re after, you’ll be in heaven). The on-site fitness studio, in an air conditioned pavilion, will keep you feeling svelte in your swimwear.
What we think
The private island experience isn’t just for Richard Branson and his ilk anymore. Cape Fahn provides all of the pampering with none of the headaches. Take the (starter, at 3,200-square-feet) one bedroom villas, which are tricked out with a private infinity pool, rainshower (and outdoor shower), and floor-to-ceiling windows and sky-high open beam ceilings in your blues and neutrals-swathed bedroom and living space. Upgrade to a Pool Villa and you’ll also have a gratis, continually restocked mini bar and a shaded hammock for lounging away an afternoon by your mosaic-lined full size personal pool. We love that the sustainably-minded on-site restaurants, like Hue and Long Dtai, serve what’s arguably the very best and thoroughly authentic Thai food in the region, with the smallest ecological footprint.
You're here because
It’s Koh Samui’s first private island ultra-luxury resort EVER, and you love to be first to everything.
The Moment
Tucking into your pineapple mussel curry and stir-fried pumpkin with Thai basil at Long Dtai, you can’t help but fantasize about dessert as you gape at the clear turquoise sea just beyond your table. Will you have coconut crumble pudding? Palm sugar dumplings in coconut cream? Maybe both? The sun slinks behind the horizon line and it’s settled. Both.
Restaurants & Bars
Long Dtai - Southern-Thai seafood restaurant by chef David Thompson
Hue - International and Thai menus of the highest quality
Location
The northeastern corner of Koh Samui, a quick flight from Bangkok. You’ll be zipped to the property in pampered style from the Koh Samui Airport via car and hour-long boat trip.
