What we think

If you prefer modernism and elegant luxury over almost anything else, Rosewood Phuket is paradise. In short: you won’t find campy thatched roofs here. Instead, the architects behind the pavilions and villas guests select from have erected odes to Frank Lloyd Wright, with coffered ceilings, floor to ceiling glass walls, and streamlined rooflines that put the focus on the exultant gardens and overgrown jungles beyond your door. We recommend the Partial Ocean View Pool Pavilions for their (yes) ocean views, 1,399 square foot floor plan, and al fresco soaking tubs and plunge pools. But amenities here are so luxe that any room you select will leave you feeling pampered, thanks to Frette bed linens, a Nespresso machine, an in-room touchscreen control panel, a Thai welcome amenity and twice daily housekeeping complete with turndown (bliss).

The spa is just as much about improving your inner beauty as it is your outer, with wellness consultations, sound therapy, yoga flow and life force healing therapy among its offerings.

The Moment

The resort’s al fresco Ta Khai restaurant was in the Michelin Guide…and no wonder. The menu is entirely locally sourced, and the dishes are the best you’ve had in the country (including tod mun goong fried shrimp cakes with plum sauce). But it’s the sunset view of the glimmering water you’ll be savoring for years to come.
