What it is
A brand new Art Nouveau retreat that’s opulent in every way, from the 47 lavish opera-inspired rooms and suites to the spa that takes its cues from lunar phases.
What it isn't
Lacking anything. Everything a grand dame hotel should have is at your fingertips here, including a 1920s-themed cocktail bar called the Diva’s Lounge and an Art Deco indoor pool that looks like a set from The Great Gatsby.
What we think
The word ‘cinematic’ doesn’t begin to describe this Capella outpost, which is like stepping into another, more magical world. Take the uniquely designed guest rooms, adorned by Bill Bensley—frequently spotted on the AD100 list—where every choice is unexpected and brimming with style, from the lipstick red wingback decorated with Sherlock Holms-ian illustrations to the rotary dial phone sitting by the bedside. To feel like you own the whole city, book the Terrace Opera Suite, with its graphic black and white mosaic tiled bathroom complete with a sculptural soaking tub and a totally private terrace that peeps out on the surrounding Hoàn Kiếm District. Whichever room you pick, expect topnotch service—including Capella’s signature bottled cocktail program, concierge-planned airport transfers, 24-hour room service, turn-down, and even a Living Room that’s stocked 24/7 with sundry snacks, tipples and a library of loaner books.
You're here because
When you visit a place, you like to go deep—steeping yourself in experiences only the locals know about. Capella’s on-site Culturists are well versed in every memorable adventure to be had here, and can get you insider access.
You hate to admit it, but you’re something of a diva yourself—so you stopped in at the Diva’s Lounge for an expertly prepared signature Diva Cocktail before dinner at the aptly named Backstage. There, under glowing red tasseled pendant lamps, you want to order everything on the Northern Vietnamese menu. And why not? That’s what a diva would do.
Restaurants & Bars
Backstage - all-day restaurant offering bold renditions of Northern Vietnamese cuisine
Diva's Lounge - offering visionary cocktails and unique Vietnamese-inspired tapas
Fittingly, this operatic property is just two blocks from the French Colonial Hanoi opera house, built in 1911—no wonder it took it as muse. Noi Bai International Airport is a 36 minute drive away.
