Four Seasons Anguilla

Downtown glam meets calypso chill

What it is

A young, chic hideaway off the beaten track.

What it isn't

One of the Caribbean’s old-school, plantation-style resorts.

What we think

Newly opened, this Four Seasons outpost is sleek and spacious. Formerly a Viceroy property, it has the edgy style of a chic downtown loft, yet it's comfortably adapted to the island’s laid-back ethos. The striking white architecture is structural and modern, but it’s open and airy, elegant and relaxing. As always, designer-darling Kelly Wearstler’s interiors are chic enough to double as sets for an editorial shoot and, though she’s known for her colorfully over-the-top concoctions, the beachfront hotel is pared down, calm and clean. In lieu of bright pink poufs and bold mismatched patterns, the resort’s 166 rooms and suites favor designer-crafted driftwood and subtle, natural textures. Smartly dressed staffers float around, attentive and quick to fulfill even the most obscure requests from the guests. Stretching out over the 3,200 acres of powder white beach, the size of the resort makes it possible for it to be both kid-friendly—it has one of Anguilla’s only kids’ clubs—as well as couple-friendly—the countless nooks scattered around make finding a secret spot oh-so-easy.

You like your tropical paradise to feel remote, celebrity-level exclusive and undeniably stylish.

The Moment

In a prime spot overlooking the bluff at the aptly named Sunset Pool, you lean back, clink glasses of aged rum with your partner and watch the sun slip below the horizon.

Restaurants & Bars

Cobà - overlooking the Caribbean, Cobà is a stylish setting for daily breakfast and dinner.

Half Shell Beach Bar- With a picturesque location on Barnes Bay Beach, Half Shell Beach Bar is a casual spot to grab a light lunch or a refreshing frozen drink.

Bamboo Bar & Grill - A fun beach bar on Meads Bay, Bamboo offers quick, simple, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and island drinks.

Sunset Lounge - A must-visit on the island, Sunset Lounge is your place for sushi, vintage Caribbean rums, classic island cocktails, cigars and stunning views over the sea – especially at sunset. Spectacular.

Location

On the western side of Anguilla, the resort is perched on the rocky outcrop that divides Barnes and Meads Bay. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the island’s airport. Easy and frequent boat transfers come and go from St. Maartin’s larger airport (just five miles south of Anguilla.)
