Driggs Hill, Bahamas
What it is
An 11 villa, 2-room resort that feels like its own private island, with a private white sand beach, infinity pool, airy spa, waterfront restaurant, and bottomless activities.
What it isn't
A landlubber. Exploits available for guests here range from bone fishing and sailing to snorkeling amid South Andros’ island’s rainbow-bright aquatic residents, including parrotfish, stingrays and angelfish.
What we think
It’s rare for a seafront resort to lean in hard to villa life and only maintain a couple of rooms, but here, the rooms are all you need to live your best beach life. Within a tidy 215 square feet, you’ll have perks galore—including robes for sipping your in-room coffee, individually controlled AC, and a patio that leads right out to the sand. Of course, you’re not often in literal paradise, and we do recommend the Villas for a sumptuous stay. Among our favorites: the three bedroom’s Bird’s Nest, where you’ll have a heated pool with massaging jets built into your 1,400 square foot terrace, and Pool Villas, which preside over the turquoise beach and have their own private pools to boot. While you’re here, don’t miss the chef’s local lobster grilled cheese—it’s a vacay on a plate. It’s worth buying a meal plan on the premises for flat rate meals…each one more delectable than the last.
You're here because
The restaurant and beach bar has no dress code, nor should they. This is a Vacationland, after all…you’re leaving your coat and tie back home.
You’re not much of a “lay on the beach all week” person, which is why you’re so glad the activities list here goes on and on. After reef fishing for strawberry grouper in adjacent waters, you go on an “On the Sea” safari, gliding alongside local dolphins and sharks…talk about seas-ing the day.

The Great Room - beach-side dining offering fresh seafood
All roads may lead to Rome, but they don’t lead here: there is no car access to the resort. Instead, you’ll take a breezy 10 minute boat ride and 15 minute drive from the airport on South Andros Island (which the hotel staff are happy to arrange).
