What we think
The problem with owning your own private island? Upkeep can be a killer. Instead, do as many a wealth advisor would suggest and book a stay at Necker Island. You’ll get all of the pampering and feel like you own the place…without actually owning the place. This paradisiacal island is among the sparkliest jewels in Sir Richard Branson’s real estate holdings, and all-inclusive stays here are nothing less than divine. We love that guest rooms are more like Balinese villas, many complete with their own plunge pools. Our favorite: the Bali Hi, which sleeps up to 10 and has an infinity pool, indoor/outdoor showers, a daybed-lined terrace overlooking the sea, and a gratis minibar you can raid whenever the mood strikes.

The Moment
Within the thatched roof Samudra Spa, the only thing more relaxing than the vanilla scrub currently being massaged into your surf-weary body are the sounds: of the water lapping at the shore, and the songbirds singing out the open doors—like a sound machine sprung to life.

Location
Within the archipelago of the British Virgin Islands, north of Virgin Gorda. Many guests fly to Beef Island (EIS) then hop aboard a 30 minute speedboat ride to Necker, where they’ll be greeted with a flute of “Necker Water” (a.k.a. champagne).
