Santa Barbara Beach And Golf Resort
Covid-19 - What you should know
Skylark’s advisor team is here to support you. Travel is tricky right now and planning isn’t always straightforward, but our team of advisors is here to assist in every way we can.
What it is
A 2,000 acre tropical playland with doting service, a spa inspired by the indigenous Arawak tribe, and the region’s best golf course.
What it isn't
Lacking in fun. Options for your daily exploits also include kayaking and SUP-ing on loaner boards, dive lessons in glass-clear turquoise seas, expert-guided hikes to nearby caves, and so much more.
What we think
Let’s dispense with the big news first: this resort’s Pete Dye-designed Old Quarry Golf Course was voted the best Caribbean course by USA Today. But we wouldn’t be surprised if the resort was “best” in myriad other ways, as well. The Tafelberg Tennis Oasis has four Hydrogrid clay courts and lessons from actual tennis pro Jon Kooy; the four on-site restaurants include The Great Room, where Asian-influenced dishes include Mahi Mahi corn dogs with lemon aioli and sriracha; and the 24-hour gym also has rental mountain bikes and weekly yoga and pilates classes. Did we mention the daily average temperature here is a perfect 85 degrees?
You're here because
The golf course is set on a 19th century former limestone quarry where iguanas roam, and frankly, you want the bragging rights.
One of your favorite desserts is a lemon bar, so when you spied the Lemon Salt Bar Scrub on the spa’s menu, you said: “Yaaaaaaas!” You select your scrub-down yourself from what’s essentially a spa buffet—a little Himalayan salt here, a little coconut oil and yerba buena there—then allow your therapist to get to work while you chillax like never before. Delicious.
