Jamaica Inn

Jamaican Legend

What it is

A family-owned favorite of megawatt celebrities since 1950, with a pristine white sand beach and a paradisiacal al fresco spa, complete with a saltwater sea bath peched over the turquoise ocean.

What it isn't

Far removed from the natural beauty beyond its doors. Hawksbill turtles nest here each and every summer; guests can help fledgling hatchlings scoot out to sea.

What we think

Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller were here. Ditto Ian Fleming (the man behind James Bond). Ditto Katherine Hepburn, Noel Coward, and so many more boldfaced names, it’s head spinning. Why did they all choose to make Jamaica Inn their home away from home? The reasons still lure today, starting with the ultra-luxe rooms themselves, with sizable footprints (starting at 522-square-feet), cosseting king sized beds, and a breezy, beachy Caribbean interior palette of yacht blues, cloud whites and gleaming mahogany that reflects the sea view beyond the private veranda. Perhaps the most bliss is to be found, though, in what the rooms don’t have: there are no radios, clocks, or TVs, all the better to hear the waves by. Upgrade to 1,996-square-foot Suite 21, which has a four post bed swathed in mosquito netting and an illustrious history: this was reportedly Sir Winston Churchill’s go-to place to crash.

You're here because

The inn has an all-inclusive meal plan, including everything from a proper high tea on the terrace and lobster dinners on Saturdays.

The Moment

The only thing on your to-do list today was getting pampered like Marilyn Monroe, so you head directly to the spa. Soon, you’re sipping iced lemongrass tea and dozing on a seaside daybed as you await your blissful treatment: a CBD cannabis massage. Jamaica at its best.
