Cheval Blanc St-Barth

A serene and chic St. Barths boutique

What it is

The postcard for intimate island luxury.

What it isn't

The tranquil elegance of the property isn’t the best backdrop for the party scene or for young children.

What we think

One of LVMH’s one-of-a-kind properties, the boutique hotel rests atop the prized white sands of Flamand Beach. Living up to its luxury design parents, the property is seamlessly elegant and simply put, beautiful. The 61 rooms, suites and villas are generously spread out on the lush, tropical grounds—allowing guests to indulge in the last true luxury: time and the privacy to detach from distraction. Inside the pitched-roof bungalows, the Jacques Grange-designed rooms look as if they’re straight out of a glossy design magazine. While clean, bright white is the dominant color through all of the rooms, the French designer has blended that easy, effortless West Indies’ charm and with a pretty, chic palette. Outside, boardwalks, edged by palms and blooming hibiscus, connect the rooms to the common spaces. La Case de l’Isle, the star restaurant here, is a favorite with locals and Chef Yann Vinsot is acknowledged as the best chef on the island. The highlight of the hotel, though, is the Cheval Blanc Spa hidden in the heart of the Maison’s lush tropical ferns and palms. Treatments are undeniably luxe in the signature-scented rooms, but the real gem is the outdoor pavilion, set in a private garden.

You're here because

You’re looking for the pinnacle of barefoot luxury. White sand, lush tropical greenery, hidden paths: this place is beautiful and luxe in a laid-back, unpretentious manner.

The Moment

As you follow the wooden paths, palm trees, heliconia, and huge tropical ferns sway in the warm Trade Winds. The lush greenery and tropical flowers scent the air, but as they shift in the wind, the scent of the ocean comes through. The path parts and a stretch of soft white sand gives way to clear turquoise water.

Restaurants & Bars

La Case de l'Isle - Inspired by the Riviera flavors, the seasonal, elegantly simple menu focuses on Italian flavors at lunch and showcases Provençal highlights in the evening.

La Cabane de l'Isle - The lovely beach front cabana, perfect for a relaxing feet-in-the-sand lunch or a romantic cocktail at sunset (will reopen in Autumn 2019)

The Maison offers more than 500 references of wine and Champagne on property.

The White Bar - Overlooking the pool and serving refreshing cocktails and light dishes at any time of the day. Enjoy a large selection of more than 150 French wines and champagnes

Location

On the northwest end of the island, it’s just under ten minutes from Gustavia, where shops and mega yacht watching await. It’s a five-minute drive to St. Barth’s regional airport which connects to the international airports on St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, or Antigua.
