Providenciales, Turks & Caicos
Wymara Resort Turks + Caicos
An urbanist’s surfside playground
What it is
Where cool kids get tan for their ‘grams.
What it isn't
Stodgy. Picture clean-lined furniture and sheer curtains blowing in the tropical breeze.
What we think
Never mind that there’s a 400-foot beach right on the property—with an adjacent barrier reef, among the world’s largest, under the turquoise water. A Wymara always has a pool—and, in this case, what a pool it is. A 7,000 square feet, palm tree–decked infinity-edge pool with four rentable private island “pods" that appear to float on the surface. The hotel’s Stelle restaurant overlooks the action, but has plenty of its own lures, such as banana-wrapped grouper and kaffir lime–infused mango panna cotta. Thankfully, it’s not hard to go back to your room, because most are bigger than some Manhattan apartments, and often fitted with balconies overlooking the sea, plus kitchens, washer/dryers and deep soaking tubs.
You're here because
You love all things Caribbean—surf! sand! rum punch!—but hate the traditional tchotchke-laden, rainbow-hued aesthetic.
The Moment
Shocked to find kayak and paddle board rentals are included with your room, you opt for the latter—and ply calm morning waters to the reef, where sea turtles greet you.
