Bahia de Tela, Honduras
Indura Beach & Golf Resort
Curio Collection By Hilton
What it is
A 60 room seafront hideaway within Jeannette Kawas National Park, with a Gary Player-designed golf course.
What it isn't
All about the game. The spa here is among the best in the nation (tip: get the coconut scrub if you know what’s good for you).
What we think
Perched on a pristine 26-mile swath of Tela Bay, Indura endures—in part because it’s so darn fabulous. All rooms are decked in Honduran-sourced woods and fabrics, with floor-to-ceiling windows that peep out on either lush fragrant jungle or that glimmering sea. But it’s hardly rustic: expect all the touches of home, including air-conditioning, a 42-inch HDTV, and zippy Wi-Fi. The fact that you’re a quick drive from misty rainforests where howler monkeys roam and kayaking through mangrove-stocked canals is just a bonus.
You're here because
The resort falls under the Curio Collection by Hilton umbrella, which means anything you could need—including a business center, babysitting, kid’s club, a gym and concierge? They’re all right there.
The Moment
You never leave home without your clubs, but Indura’s golf course still drops your jaw, with its 1,800 acres of tropical landscape—including pristine lagoons. When you make it to the final hole, having woven through the course Gary Player designed so sustainably, you beeline straight for the Duna Beach Lounge. If there’s ever a time for an umbrella-topped cocktail, it’s now—it’s not every day you score an 89! But something about the sea breeze here put you on your best golfing behavior.
