Tennerhof
Fairytale Chalet
What it is
A fanciful 39-room, chalet-style boutique hotel with two exquisite restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, and a spa with Finnish saunas, plunge pools and steam baths.
What it isn't
Lacking sumptuous amenities. Guests are treated to luxe touches at every turn, including Acqua di Parma bath toiletries, free shoe shines, in-room robes and slippers, a pillow menu, turndown, and even a buttery baked good from their patisserie at check-in. Did we mention the abundant breakfast buffet, included in your stay?
What we think
Disney movies set many children up for disappointment, because enchantment seems all too rare these days. Not so at Hotel Tennerhof, which looks like it was conjured by an alpine fairy with a penchant for unbridled luxury. Each guest room is warm and welcoming, yet ornate, down to the 161 square foot Single Rooms, which are stocked with cozy seating nooks, terraces, and antique-inspired carved and hand-painted headboards to swoon over. For a larger option, we absolutely love the Kaiser Suite Franz Josef; the 700 square foot floor plan includes a fireplace in the living room with soaring ceilings, parquet flooring and a balcony with jaw-dropping panoramas of the surrounding peaks.
You're here because
The hotel is a member of the famously persnickety Relais & Châteaux, and is therefore bound to be PERFECT, all caps.
The Moment
After a morning of skiing, you’re zonked…and ready to hit the spa. Thankfully, over the top treatments await: including a Himilayan salt and grape seed scrub that leaves you feeling as fresh as the snow swirling out your window.
