Vienna, Austria
Andaz Vienna Am Belvedere
Modern Marvel
What it is
A brand new 303-room high rise with a museum-quality art collection, rooftop terrace and jaw-dropping spa.
What it isn't
Stingy. The contents of the mini bar in your room—including non-alcoholic tipples and addictive snacks—is totally free.
What we think
Andaz spared no expense when they erected this urban gem, which is evident the minute you step foot in your room. It feels more like a luxury condo than a hotel, thanks to its floor-to-ceiling windows, fishbone parquet floors, rain shower, and Illy coffee machine. The wall your headboard is set against could well have been taken from Schönbrunn Palace, thanks to its subtle depiction of an ornate gallery wall. Repeat guests obsess over the on-site Austrian tavern inspired by Prince Eugene’s travels, plus the pristine 24-hour gym—a nice way to work off all the gratis sips of vino at Wine Hour in the lobby. Wi-Fi is also free, and very fast.
You're here because
Their room service is 24-hours. And if you can’t order french fries at 2 a.m., what’s the point of being on vacation?
The Moment
After a night at the 1869 Vienna State Opera, you’re craving actual stars—and head to the 16th floor rooftop bar for a 360-degree view. Set by the fire, ogling the Scandinavian menu, you’re not surprised they call this place Aurora. It’s as otherworldly as it is down to earth.

Location
Edging Vienna’s Park Schweizergarten, a block from Belvedere 21, a museum tailor-made for Fritz Wotruba’s many works. Heeresgeschichtliches Museum, housed in a one-time arsenal and now the place to see medieval military gear, is a block in the other direction.
