Steigenberger Icon Wiltcher's

Storied Stunner

What it is

A revamped circa 1913 hotel with 267 guest rooms, an indoor pool and glamorous spa, Michelin-starred restaurant, and multiple watering holes.

What it isn't

Cramped. Historic, yes, but small, no. Guest rooms here begin at a whopping 484 square feet.

What we think

The fanciful facade of the original 1913 hotel that was built here is nothing less than fairytale-worthy, but it’s the modern-day interiors that will delight guests for years to come. Nothing is stuck in ye-olde-Belgium inside your room here: even the starter “Superior Rooms” are ginormous, and equipped with luxe touches like Nespresso machines, zippy free Wifi, a sitting area, Acqua di Parma toiletries, and work-from-hotel setup with a gleaming desk sure to produce Zoom envy in your colleagues. For an even more expansive stay, we can’t get enough of the two level Duplex Suite—a 968 square foot enclave where the sleeping quarters are lofted above the living space and you’ll have a second bathroom at-the-ready for your comfort.

You're here because

The Michelin starred restaurant, La Canne en Ville, is worthy of a trip alone—with its cheese trolley and dishes like grilled, rosemary-smoked langoustine that arrives in a cloud of smoke under a glass dome.

The Moment

A pianist is tinkling the ivories at Loui Cocktail Bar & Restaurant, and so talented that you feel you’re slipping back in time to another, grander era. Or maybe that’s the strawberry pavlova talking.
