What it is

A new 176-room hideaway within the 1916 ‘Sugar Palace,’ with a full-throttle-glam bar and restaurant and an organic Klara Rott spa.

What it isn't

All about the schnitzel. Yes, they have plenty of fabulized Czech fare on offer, but the hotel also has a 24/hour gym at the ready with Technogym equipment galore.

What we think

Prague is undoubtedly a head-turner: a town where Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture converge. So when Hyatt opened its first hotel there, it knew it would have to go big—aesthetically speaking—and it delivered. Guest rooms are nothing less than exquisite, at any size: in starter 269-square-foot King Bed rooms, you’ll find a bohemian Bruncvík lion appearing to burst from the wall above your plush headboard; golden hands holding back your ombre curtains; and a jewel box of a bathroom that looks more like a luxe train case than a typical utilitarian space. For a larger floor plan, consider the 570 square foot Andaz Suite— it has a separate living room and spa-like bath retreat with a deep soaking tub and a panorama over Haymarket Square. Whatever room you pick, you’ll be treated to a gratis minibar of local snacks and nonalcoholic drinks, zippy free Wi-Fi, unlimited coffee and tea from your in-room gadget, and so much more.

You're here because

You like the feeling of a luxury home with the perks only a hotel like Andaz can provide: including room service, laundry and in-the-know concierges with their fingers on the pulse.

The Moment

Zem Restaurant feels like a holdover from the Art Deco era, with its walls of antiqued mirrors and gleaming chandeliers. But it’s the Czech avant-garde menu you’ll be back for again and again during your stay, including the most divine paprika chicken with herb spaetzle you’ve ever known.

Restaurants & Bars

ZEM - Inspired by the earth (from the Czech word zem), which provides the nourishment for flora and fauna, celebrated through the art of cooking, ZEM is the connection between nature and the creativity of our chefs. Local ingredients coming from Moravia and Bohemia are crafted into modern versions of Czech comfort food through the art of bistronomy, using high-quality ingredients and natural flavors. Our menu also honors the influences of authentic Izakaya, Japanese meat dishes from the charcoal grill, and handmade dumplings from our steamers. We encourage you to taste delectable authentic reimaged dishes from over here (Moravia and Bohemia) and from over there, Japanese Izakaya food.

MEZ - Just as the field border (from the Czech word mez) is where a farmer rests, refreshes, and meets with others after a hard day at work, the MEZ bar is where locals and travelers engage together and enjoy the exhilarating atmosphere. Our mixologists reconnect with nature to surprise you with perfectly balanced cocktails, that are infused with the ancient power and wisdom of Bohemian mythology and spiced with a true South American vibe.
