What it is

Arguably the most luxe ski resort in the Alps, with 41 elegant rooms, a Guerlain Spa, four gastronomic restaurants and watering holes, and activities galore—from husky sledding to paragliding.

What it isn't

Just outdoorsy. Guests can check out a movie from the library of the hotel’s private cinema, curl up in a recliner, and snack away with indoorsy delight.

What we think

If we only had a week left to live, we would probably check in here to spend it properly…it’s that good. Clefs d’Or Airelles member concierges await to pamper guests with assistance for any storybook whim, in any season, whether you want to go ice climbing or hike the prettiest untrammeled trails in the Manchet Valley. When you return home to the resort, you’ll find your chalet-inspired room to be Extraordinary with a capital E. Designed by Christophe Tollemer, even the most basic option is anything but; Premier Rooms are fitted with private hammams, deep soaking tubs and jaw-dropping views of the slopes. If you’re traveling en famille, the Two-Bedroom Suite is ready for your sprawl, with its private balcony, two bathrooms and 1,076-square foot floor plan under medieval-esque exposed beams.

You're here because

You’ve always believed in fairytales, and this place really makes them happen, for all ages. Case in point: the flowers hung from the ceiling of LouLou restaurant, which were designed by Thierry Boutemy (famous for his work on Sophia Coppola’s film ‘Marie Antoinette’).

The Moment

After a morning on the slopes, you’re craving the coziest possible comfort food…and Savoyard cuisine delivers. Award winning pastry chef Patrick Chevallot bakes the housemade bread (he took “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” in 1994), and the fondue is so note-perfect you’ll be fantasizing about it for years to come.
