What we think

Skylark only includes hotels that meet our stamp of approval. Our editorial review for this one isn’t ready yet — but we’re working on it! Below is the hotel’s own description.

.

Built in 1908-1909 by architect Henri Martinet, from the moment it opened it received a prominent clientele and well-known families including the Schlumbergers, Singers and the Countess of Castellane. The hotel was open until the 1930s, was transformed into a hospital in 1950 and subsequently became a renal centre in 1967. It was bought in 1991 by the Evian Mineral Water Company, and after a long period of refurbishment, the Ermitage was returned to its initial purpose. In 1993, a conference centre and spa were added to the hotel.
