Cour des Vosges

Historic Hideaway

What it is

A 17th century chateaux still rich with tapestries and ornate woodwork transformed into a modern 12 room boutique hotel with all the trimmings (including a Roman bath).

What it isn't

Lacking a view. Each guestroom peeps out on Place des Vosges, a storied park built in 1605 flanked by equally storied homes (Victor Hugo once lived here).

What we think

When designers Yann Le Coadic & Alessandro Scotto were enlisted to decorate this age-old structure, they kept the historic (exposed beams, terra cotta floors) while adding plenty of 21st century allure—including sculptural marble vanities, hidden LED lighting and artful stainless steel headboards. Every guest room is stunning (and begins at 312 square feet), but for an Emily in Paris Grows Up experience, you want a 484-square-foot Deluxe Suite overlooking Place des Vosges. Yours for your stay: a stainless four post bed, deep soaking tub, and Guerlain toiletries. Whichever room you pick, you’ll love the art that seems to adorn every inch of the place; the property hired art curator and gallerist Amélie du Chalard to ensure aesthetic excellence.

You're here because

The hotel has a blissful secret: a subterranean Roman bath under a vaulted ceiling that’s a restorative dream for the jetlagged.

The Moment

Your local coffee shop home will never be the same after a morning at the hotel’s patisserie, helmed by Yann Brys, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. If it’s wrong to start your day with a mille feuille, you don’t want to be right.

Restaurants & Bars

The Salon de Thé - Offers light gourmet fare for breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. The menu features soups and salads, as well as a choice of hot dishes, such as turkey and truffle croque-monsieur or beef bourguignon with bacon and button mushrooms.

Brach-La Pâtisserie Corner - Offers traditional desserts alongside bold and colorful creations, loaf cakes and pastries by Yann Brys, Meilleur Ouvrier de France. Take away or stay and enjoy in this comfortable and welcoming space.

Location

Set directly across from 17th century Place des Vosges park, five blocks from Musée National Picasso-Paris—where 5,000-plus of his works await.
