Everything about the Esprit Saint Germain feels more like a private residence than a hotel. A black facade with drape-covered windows makes the hotel look like an exclusive club, but upon entry, you’re instantly made to feel like a guest of a charming private residence. Two comfortable and inviting lobby lounges beg you to relax and have a drink, and a self-serve bar makes you forget that you’re a paying guest. Upstairs are 28 rooms, all individually decorated in an unassuming contemporary style. It’s Parisian, but in a distinctly modern sense - don’t expect to walk into a classic, bougey grande dame because you certainly won’t. The hotel’s greatest draw is that it is truly an intimate experience, which is something that you simply can’t get at one of the bigger Parisian classics. This, along with its proximity to the Luxembourg Gardens, also makes it a good choice for families. Additionally, its location on the Left Bank makes it stand out from the overwhelming number of hotels on the Right Bank.
