What it is
A 12th century chateau on 34 lush acres in the French Riviera, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, olive tree-flanked infinity pool, and movie-ready guestrooms and six villas.
What it isn't
Lacking a spa. This one is run in partnership with La Prairie, and was voted the best in Europe, thanks in part to its al fresco treatment gazebos surrounded by exultant flowers.
What we think
Even Grace Kelly—queen (okay, technically Princess) of the Cote D’Azur—would be wowed by this place. Every single element of the property is pure #perfection. Take the guest rooms, traditionally appointed with sumptuous candy red and sand grey furnishings and gleaming brass light fixtures, which pop all the more adjacent to the verdant Provincial garden views. Starter “Deluxe” rooms can feel somewhat limited beginning at 270-square-feet, so we would recommend upgrading to a Junior Suite (roomier at 377 square feet, and many outfitted with a terrace beyond a barrel-vaulted door that overlooks the rolling hills.) Or, get the full royal experience by booking a One Bedroom Suite, where the panorama from your private terrace spans from Nice to Cannes and beyond.
You're here because
The La Prairie spa is so much more than its looks, with Kinesis machines and personal trainers on staff to get you glowing from the inside out.
Your whirl around the stone-walled Chardonnay cellar was the perfect hors d'oeuvres for dinner at Michelin-starred Le Saint-Martin, where practically everything on the menu came from the region. Every bite is too pretty to eat—but, thanks to that champagne, disappears faster than you can say “Michelin.”
Restaurants & Bars
Le Saint- Martin - Mediterranean cuisine.
L'Oliveraie - Authentic pizzas from our wood-fired oven, herb-infused grilled fish and meats.
Le Rossini - The most refined setting for an evening cocktail on the French Riviera.
Pool Bar - The elegant swimming pool bar is also open for cocktails.
The sea-facing hills of the French Riviera, a five minute drive from Chapelle du Rosaire de Vence, which was designed and adorned—with stained glass and marble floors in Crayola-bright colors—by Henri Matisse circa 1951.
