City West, Berlin
Waldorf Astoria Berlin
High-rise high life
What it is
Skyscraping, Art Deco-inspired suites in City West.
What it isn't
Boutique. With 232 rooms, you’ll have every amenity you’d expect from an opulent urban hotel.
What we think
The first and only Guerlain spa in Germany is here at the Waldorf, which says something about the level of no-limits-luxury at this glimmering tower. Rooms are fitted with Apple TV’s, marble bathrooms with heated floors and 300-thread count sheets that are nearly impossible to slip out of in the morning. But leave you will, especially for the food; among the four bars and restaurants on-site, Roca has a terrace overlooking the cityscape where you can start your day with rosewater pancakes drizzled in Berlin honey, and Nürnberger bratwursts.
You're here because
The 10,000-square-foot Guerlain spa has, among other things, a pool shaped like a cloud, and you’ve been wanting nothing more than to put your head in the clouds lately.
The Moment
In the highly cinematic Lang Bar—named for German movie director Fritz “Metropolis” Lang—you’ve got the feeling you’re in a Wes Anderson movie. Sipping the YOLO cocktail with house-made red wine syrup only adds to the effect.
