SIDE Design Hotel Hamburg
Airy Hideaway
What it is
A Mid-century-inspired stone and glass tower with a central atrium, a 5,000-square-foot spa with a mosaic-lined pool, lauded steakhouse, and a rooftop Sky Lounge.
What it isn't
Artless. By nightfall, the 91-foot-tall glass atrium is transformed into a de facto light installation by New York light choreographer, Robert Wilson.
What we think
Side enlisted Milan-based designer Matteo Thun to revamp their guest rooms, and there is Italian charm everywhere you look. Even the most basic 301 square foot Superior Room is stylish, with its pastel and bleach white color palette, rainfall shower head over the tub, Phillips smart TV and a L’Amante coffee machine so you can make your morning cuppa right there in bed, should you desire. For even more room to sprawl out, we love the 495 square foot Executive Rooms for their king beds swaddled in Italian bed linens and living areas (complete with a kitchenette).
You're here because
You love to swim on vacay, and the indoor pool here is a pristine delight sheathed in glimmering turquoise tiles.
The Moment
The hotel cheekily named their steakhouse Meatery, but their menu tonight is seriously elevated. You can’t help but go big, ordering a German pasture-fed tomahawk that’s been dry aged for eight weeks. What’s German for “melt in your mouth”?
