Keá Island, Greece
One&Only Kea Island
Grecian Glamour
What it is
A new 160-acre waterfront paradise with modernist villas, four locavore bars and restaurants (including a beach club) and infinity pool on the Aegean.
What it isn't
Blah. Activities here range from diving to shipwrecks with dive master Yannis Tzavelakos to sampling wild thyme honey with a third generation beekeeper.
What we think
For urbanites who crave modern design that’s inspired by the past, this newly constructed retreat is everything. Each villa here has a nearly 360-degree view of the Aegean Sea, plus a private infinity pool (aaah), fireplace and courtyard ideal for evening ouzo hour. We love the luxe finishes—including marble and gleaming wood—and fixtures like rain showers, which feel a bit like a miniature medicane, or tropical Mediterranean cyclone. One-Bedroom Cliff Villas are huge at 807 square feet, but if you’re traveling with a group, you may want to upgrade to the Two Bedroom Cliff Villa; they have outsized wardrobes, multiple terraces and ginormous 1937 square foot floor plans.
You're here because
It’s brand spanking new, and you love to plant your flag first. Plus, the private infinity pool and in-villa fireplaces feel like they were tailor-made for Aphrodite herself.
The Moment
The resident DJs have turned Bond Beach Club into a de facto nightclub on the sand…and that’s just the way you like it. From your shaded perch under a tamarind tree, you’re not sure what you love more: the scene, or this frothy mixologist-made cocktail. Bliss.
