What we think

It can be difficult to modernize a landmarked building for today while retaining its storied roots, but Xenodocheio Milos—which is tucked within a 19th century building that was designated a landmark in 1979 by the Greek Ministry of Culture—has done just that, with aplomb. Guest rooms are as luxe as they come, with marble sheathed bathrooms, blonde wood floors, and sculptural custom furnishings—many with private terraces ideal for sipping that first Greek frappé of the day. Set on the fourth floor, the 215 square foot Classic Rooms are welcoming and warm, many with a peek out on the Old Parliament House; we particularly love the Milos Terrace Suite, which sleeps four, for its sweeping 538 square foot floor plan and private outdoor terrace with a jacuzzi at-the-ready.
