Crete, Greece
Phaea Blue Palace
Island Idyll
What it is
A waterside respite with 47 oversized Mediterranean-inspired guest rooms, four airy bars and restaurants (including a waterfront taverna), and curated bucket list exploits.
What it isn't
Equipped with its own spa. But honestly, you’re in Crete…who needs one?
What we think
You may pinch yourself even in the most basic room category at Phaea Blue; Signature Rooms are 387 square feet and fitted with luxuries that range from private balconies overlooking postcard-worthy views to Nespresso machines for your morning jolt. But for a stay too beautiful to be believed, book the Island Suite Seaview Private Heated Pool. You’ll feel like a celeb on a Cretian holiday, with your 645 square foot space with its own sitting room, two bathrooms sheathed in marble, and a heated pool on your outsized veranda that peers out on the Aegean Sea itself. Not even Zeus, the Greek God born on Mount Ida right here in Crete, had it this good. Don’t miss their well-planned guest activities; the tours of nearby villages in their vintage Mercedes or Cadillac are a must.
You're here because
You’re spoiling the kiddos by bringing them along, and they’ll be indulged: the hotel has its own kids club and activities galore for littles.
The Moment
You’re absolutely famished from your afternoon on the beach, and yet you don’t want to let that glimmering water out of your sight. That’s where Blue Door Taverna comes in: from your waterside table, the only thing fresher than the sea air is this fire-grilled catch of the day.
