Kensho Boutique Hotel & Suites

Instagrammable Idyll

What it is

A latter day reinterpretation of Grecian greatness, with 35 rooms, a pool and hammam.

What it isn't

Colorful. Everything in this place is white-on-white, with a bit of sandy-hued neutrals for good measure.

What we think

It’s a pity that Kensho Ornos wasn’t open when Jackie Kennedy pulled up to Mykonos by yacht in 1960. The former first lady and glamazon would have delighted in the hotel, which opened in 2016 to great fanfare, thanks to its supremely photogenic design (every room is modern yet ineffably timeless) and luxe perks, such as an on-site hammam and spa with only-in-Greece treatments, like the Mediterranean Experience (a scrub made of olive stones, grape seeds and Moroccan argan oil). The hotel hired starchitects and designers—Patricia Urquiola, Paola Navone—to make every room a stunner, and it shows. Oh, did we mention you can chillax in a subterranean cave that’s tricked out with a turquoise-lit jacuzzi and glowing futuristic heat therapy beds? Jackie would be floored.

You're here because

This property may have a small footprint, but it shares restaurants with three other sister hotels, which means your next unforgettable meal is right in front of you. At the brand new Kenshō Psarou Lounge, the local chef has culled a world’s worth of inspiration—from Japan, Peru, and of course Greece-onto the toothsome menu.

The Moment

Anyone who has ever tried a float pod knows they’re the ne plus ultra in relaxation. This one, set in Kenshō’s beach spa, makes you feel like a Greek God hovering in the air—absolutely weightless. Any lingering stress you felt dissipates in an instant. Bliss.
