Four Seasons Gresham Palace

Riverside Splendor

What it is

A literal palace transformed into a fanciful hotel, with two locally loved restaurants and a spa dedicated to ancient Hungarian treatments.

What it isn't

Hands-off. This being a Four Seasons, gratis services include nightly turndown, children’s amenities, and the doting attention of a multilingual concierge.

What we think

“Glamourous” doesn’t begin to describe Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest, where guest rooms are still worthy of the “palace” moniker. Amenities in the Art Deco-inspired spaces include plush terry robes, down duvets and pillows, iPod docking stations and DVD players, and 24-hour pampering of every sort, whether you require dry cleaning at 5 a.m. or a room service delivery at midnight. To get the full regal experience, we recommend booking the 1,464-square-foot Royal Suite, which is dotted with original Art Nouveau furniture and has a terrace overlooking the Danube, not to mention a living room with a flickering fireplace. It’s all so lovely, you may feel like packing your tiara.

You're here because

You’re bringing the kids, and the hotel rolls out the red carpet for them, too, with mini bathrobes, loaner games galore, and even behind-the-scenes experiences at the zoo.

The Moment

After a morning of exploring museums, there’s only one more thing on your to-do list: some serious R&R at the spa. Today, you’re being scrubbed down with sea salt and massaged with Hungarian thermal mud: an ancient treatment that makes you feel anything but.
