The Marker Hotel

Modern Star

What it is

A new waterfront 187 retreat with sleek yet cozy interiors, a rooftop terrace bar, and a much-ballyhooed spa with a serene 75-foot-long indoor infinity pool.

What it isn't

Slacking off. The hotel’s running concierge offers guests guided 3K to 10K races through the streets, gratis. Call it your run club, on the road.

What we think

X marks this spot. The hippest denizens of Dublin flock to The Marker for its buzzing restaurants and bars, including The Brasserie—which is as design-forward as MoMA and has a menu of locavore Irish dishes artfully made for Instagram, including corn fed chicken with dauphinoise potatoes with crispy pancetta and red wine jus. No surprise the guest rooms are just as carefully plotted, including high-tech touches like Nespresso Zenius machines for your morning jolt and 40-inch Samsung HD LED TVs. We love the sixth floor Luxury One Bedroom Suites for their floor-to-ceiling panorama over the cityscape from a separate living room, and the eye candy design choices (yes, that modernist sofa cushion was made in Ireland; yes that desk chair is Eames-inspired). But even the starter “Deluxe Rooms” have a suite-like feel, thanks to their equally plush amenities and roomy floor plans (starting at almost 400 square feet).

You're here because

You like to take your favorite hotels home with you, and their topnotch hotel shop ensures you can bring the spa—including Elemental Herbology exfoliators, serums and night creams—into your daily skincare routine.

The Moment

There’s no better view in Dublin than what’s before you at dusk at the rooftop cocktail bar: 360-degrees of skyline bathed in dreamy pink twilight. You take a sip of your flower-topped cucumber and elderflower martini and think it must be true: you’ve picked up the luck of the Irish.
