Occupying a palazzo designed by Filippo Brunelleschi, the same architect responsible for the historic Duomo, the St. Regis Florence captures the elegance of 15th-century Florence.The location, on the banks of the Arno River in the centro storico, is ideal for shoppers and culturalati alike. The 100 rooms and suites are both regal and romantic; unlike the other room choices, the most basic option, the “Deluxe Room,” is more of a mix of Renaissance and contemporary styles (think restored 16th-century frescoes and sleek leather headboards) . This means that if you want a more traditionally styled room, it’s best to upgrade. Regardless, all rooms are ultra-luxurious and the real reason to upgrade yourself is so that you can take advantage of the coveted St. Regis butler program, which is only available if you’re in a “Deluxe Arno River View” room or any of the suites.
