What it is
A $186 million resort that feels like an aesthete's dream Apulian village.
What it isn't
For grown-ups-only. This place is family-owned and it shows in the best possible ways.
What we think
If it looks too good to be true, it isn’t. This cinematic collection of Adriatic-facing hilltop villas, with its prime access to the adjacent San Domenico Golf Course and its British-run, Poppins-esque kids program, is “pinch me” real. There are three tennis courts (one with live grass), three daybed-lined turquoise pools and a nearly 20,000-square-foot spa that’s locally inspired, with a candlelit Roman bath, pink salt scrubs and rosemary and olive oil facials. You might worry about spilling your primitivo in any of the 63 rooms and 28 suites, where everything is white-on-white—from the local stone and quicklime walls to the gauzy curtains lining your four-poster king bed. Don’t: The hotel employs full-time painters and perfectionists maintaining the grounds. You’ll never notice a tassel out of place.
You're here because
You want to splurge on a family vacation that actually feels like a vacation (ciao, babysitters!).
The Moment
Trolling for squid and octopus at sunrise with the hotel’s on-site fishing school, you put down your coffee. There’s nothing more rousing than a spray of salty surf.
