Hotel D'Inghilterra
Grande Dame
What it is
An iconic centuries-old retreat with decadent interiors, an ornate restaurant and mixologist-led cocktail bar, topnotch service and unforgettable workshops with artisans.
What it isn't
Fitted with a pool and spa. You won’t even miss them.
What we think
You know a hotel is fabulous when the list of former guests reads like a Who’s Who of inimitable legends—including Elizabeth Taylor, Henry James, Gregory Peck and Mark Twain. But Hotel D’Inghilterra is not resting on its many laurels. All 80 guest rooms are every bit as cinematic and sumptuous for today’s glitterati. In the “beginning” 194 square foot Superior rooms, you’ll find rococo headboards that stretch nearly to the ceiling, carved marble in the bathrooms, glimmering chandeliers and abundant, tasseled window treatments. And while options span up to a penthouse, our favorite might just be the 484 square foot Balcony Suite for its private balcony overlooking the terracotta rooftops of Rome. Whichever room you select, expect plush amenities to enjoy, including a pillow menu, robes and slippers, Samsung Smart Tvs, 24-hour room service, shoeshines….the list goes on. #TreatYoSelf.
You're here because
The hotel’s curated “craft experiences”—including hat-making workshops and micromosaic jewelry lessons—will transform you into the artist you know you are.
The Moment
Tonight, as live musicians send jazz trilling into the warm air at Cafe Romano, you can’t help but feel like you’re in on a secret. This black truffle and mozzarella pizza is one of the most delectable things you’ve ever eaten…until the tiramisu with coffee ice cream arrives, that is.
