What we think
If you haven’t heard of the Hotel Danieli, you’ll be delighted to know that it is perhaps the most famous hotel in the city. Made up of three buildings with the oldest dating all the way back to the 14th century, this is a legendary hotel that stays true to its multi-century heritage. Characterized primarily by marble floors, Rubelli fabrics and gold ceilings, the style of the hotel can really only be described as truly decadent. The 204 rooms and suites are much more subdued, but maintain an authentically Venetian style, which at times can mean they are quite small (the smallest starts at 182 square feet). The hotel’s newly introduced suite, Grand Dandolo Suite, is located throughout the historic Palazzo Dandolo and is embellished with chandeliers from Murano, precious fabrics by Rubelli and authentic city views. If this doesn’t appeal to you, definitely up your choice to a Deluxe Lagoon View, which is close to double the size and offers magnificent views of the Venetian Lagoon. During your stay, reserve one night for a meal at the Restaurant Terrazza Danieli located on the hotel’s rooftop, which has an unbeatable sunset view of the Serenissima.
