Venice, Italy
The St. Regis Venice
Old World Wonder
What it is
A 130 room, 39 suite legend on the Grand Canal, with sceney bars and a waterfront restaurant.
What it isn't
Poorly serviced. St. Regis’s trademark staff of doting butlers attend to your every Vacationland whim.
What we think
Art is integral to the vibe here—as evidenced by the Arts Bar, where Instagram-ready cocktails were inspired by everyone from painter Canaletto to author Casanova. That creative pulse continues in the guest rooms: Murano glass sconces flank the beds; a color palette of “blush and bashful” meets masculine black creates a cozy reprieve. Though starter rooms begin at 344 square feet, it’s well worth upgrading to the 677-square-foot Santa Maria Suite for a soaring open beam ceiling, parquet floors topped with plush rugs, and a private balcony that would satisfy any royal from Italy's House of Savoy.
You're here because
The gym is open 24/7— an absolute must-have amenity in the land of gnocchi and taleggio. Plus: the spa is partnered with the ever-lovely Carita Paris, which has its HQ on 11 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore.
The Moment
Sitting at an al fresco riverfront table at Gio’s, as twilight falls over the Grand Canal, you watch gondoliers float merrily by—and it’s the closest thing you can imagine to heaven. Until, that is, your charming waiter delivers dessert: tangerine mousse with white chocolate sauce and Grand Marnier. Heaven is no longer imaginary.
