Corinthia Hotel St. George's Bay

Waterfront Wonder

What it is

A seaside resort with a ginormous spa, six pools, a private boat jetty, loaner watercraft, diving center and eight (eight!) on-site restaurants.

What it isn't

On island time. Service is impeccable, with concierge and staffers adept at eight languages, including English, Italian and French.

What we think

Come hungry. Corinthia has more dining options than many small towns, whether you’re hangry for all-American fare at sports bar-inspired Henry J. Bean’s (get the rib eye with garlic butter and housemade coleslaw) or charred Venezuelan octopus with jalapeno tartar and crushed potatoes at al fresco South American restaurant Susurrus, which sits across from the sand. The best part of indulging here is knowing your cozy room is right upstairs, whether you book a “standard” Superior Room (290 square feet with a private balcony and gratis access to the Apollo by Dee Spa), or a megawatt luxury Junior Suite, with its expansive 464 square foot floor plan, separate living room and the ultimate perk: bottomless refreshments throughout the day at the Executive Club Lounge. Whichever you book, don’t miss booking some waterlogged fun; they have everything from paddle boats and jet-skis to a full-on yacht you can charter.

You're here because

You love a resort with pools galore, so you can act like Madonna…if one doesn’t suit you, you just move your splashy brood on to the next. Bonus: a children’s pool that keeps the aforementioned splashing to one gleeful zone.

The Moment

Given Malta’s former connection to the U.K., it makes sense that afternoon tea here would be worthy of the royal family. These trays are stocked with delight, from the caviar and dill topped smoked salmon sandwiches to the sconces just pulled from the oven.

Minutes from the turquoise water at St. George’s Bay Beach. You’ll definitely want to stop by the circa 1560 Upper Barrakka Gardens, which more than deserves its 25,000 five star Google reviews thanks to gurgling fountains and panoramic harbor views.
