The Dylan

Serene in the City

What it is

An artful boutique hotel on the Keizersgracht canal with a Michelin-starred restaurant.

What it isn't

Hands-off. The hotel has a team of Les Clef d’Or Concierges at your beck and call.

What we think

We’d hate to visit Amsterdam and miss out on its architectural charms, which is why this gem of a hotel is arguably the perfect place to stay. Rooms are fitted with sumptuous touches (Bose sound systems, Frette bathrobes, and free, fast Wifi), and each one has a historic-made-modern feel, whether you’re staying in a “Loft” (with towering original open-wood beam ceilings) or a “Loxura” (inspired by the copper-hued Loxura butterfly, with saturated hues on every surface).

You're here because

You love history, and the hotel is housed in a 1773 former Old & Poor People’s Office run by the Regents of the Roman Catholic Church Charities.

The Moment

You’ve been lucky enough to dine in plenty of Michelin starred restaurants, and loved them all. But none sent you into orbit as quickly as Vinkeles, where your Dutch venison with black salsify and fresh walnuts was reason enough to fly to Amsterdam. When you tuck into your toffee soufflé topped with Earl Gray sorbet, you can’t help but wonder: do they have an open table for you tomorrow night, too?

Restaurants & Bars

Restaurant Vinkeles - French cuisine by Executive Chef Dennis Kuipers

Bar Brasserie OCCO - Brasserie style menu with signature cocktails

Location

In Amsterdam’s 9-Streets district, which straddles the city’s grand canals and is chockablock with hip boutiques and art galleries. The Huis Marseille Museum of Photography, housed in two 17th century canal houses, is your neighbor.
