Raffles Europejski Warsaw
History Reinvented
What it is
An 1857 grande dame that’s the pride of Poland, with ultra-glam revamped interiors including some 500 art pieces and a mosaic-lined indoor pool in the spa.
What it isn't
Peckish. All four bars and restaurants here are tailor-made for Instagram, with fare to match (don’t miss the black garlic butter halibut at Europejski Grill).
What we think
The Neo-Renaissance facade of Raffles Europejski Warsaw managed to escape catastrophe in World War II—a boon for aesthetes everywhere. The jaw-dropping exterior set off an equally eye candy interior decorating scheme, recently done by Slovakian Boris Kudlicka (known for his dreamy sets at the Royal Opera House). Even the starter “Deluxe Rooms” are outfitted with everything the glitterati could ask for, including a curated library; original art by Polish artists; window treatments that open and shut at the push of a button; custom linens; and a marble-lined bathroom with toiletries by Blaise Mautin. To sprawl out further, you may want to book an 872-square-foot Prestige Suite; they have separate living rooms and walk-in libraries. Oh, did we mention the hotel’s art concierge and endless guest entry to the spa’s sauna, pool, steam room and ice fountain? Call it Polish pampering.
You're here because
You love a good celeb story, and everyone from the Rolling Stones to Marlene Dietrich have stayed here. Plus: it has 24-hour butler service.
The Moment
When you step foot in the ivory, brass and blush pink interiors of patisserie Lourse Warszawa, you could swear you’re in Paris. The only thing more delicious than the design? This note-perfect, buttery croissant that puts every other pastry to shame.
