Hospes Palacio de Los Patos
A Modern Palace
What it is
Granada's top luxury stay, in an updated 19th-century villa.
What it isn't
Moorish to the core. This is today’s Andalusia, and it’s never been more fetching.
What we think
A 42-room hotel that combines the historic with the ultra-modern could very well have multiple personality disorder—but not this hotel. The Palacio de Los Patos seamlessly combines the best of old and new (seriously; we can think of a few other properties who could use their advice). Ask for a room in the older building with original mosaics and ceiling frescoes for an only-in-Granada experience; Dreamers rooms, in the latticed alabaster newer wing, are more contemporary. You’ll also kick yourself if you miss the caviar tasting (it’s Riofrío caviar, touted as the world’s first guilt-free organic version), served with cava, natch.
You're here because
It’s one of few—if not the only—hotels in Granada with a thermal pool, Turkish bath and dry sauna.
The Moment
After a night of bar-hopping, you’re delighted to find the restaurant offers 24-hour room service—because there’s nothing like tapas delivered to your bathrobed self at 2 a.m.
