Mallorca, Spain
The St. Regis Mardavall Mallorca Resort
Oceanfront Elan
What it is
Glamorous resort on a lush cove.
What it isn't
Intimate. The sweeping 125-room property is stocked with almost any extracurricular you could want, including one of Europe’s largest spas.
What we think
A cathedral-like atrium sets the tone here the second you arrive: Welcome to Luxury with a capital L. All guests, even in the anything-but-basic rooms, are treated to St. Regis’s trademark white-glove butler service—unpacking your bags, drawing your shades at dawn, whatever your whim. You don’t want to leave without having at least one candlelit meal on the sea-facing terrace of Es Fum, where the tasting menu may include foie gras ravioli with duck consommé and rib eye carpaccio with ginger emulsion (you didn’t come all the way to Spain to lose weight, did you?). Kiddos have their own dedicated Explorers Club, complete with two supervised shallow pools and a sand pit. Translation: You can hit the pool bar sans guilt.
You're here because
You like a coddling, full-service resort with a great pool and spa and access to golf. Of note: The hotel is not directly on the beach, but there are a few nearby.
The Moment
Sitting in the Egyptian brine bath at Arabella Spa—complete with underwater music—the warm purr of your expert acupuncture session starts to fade, and you realize that your jet lag has dissipated.
