Beau-Rivage Palace

The Grandest Grande Dame

What it is

An 1861 hotel that’s earned its “palace” moniker with 168 elegant lakeside rooms, a 16,000 square foot spa with indoor and outdoor pools, and six glam restaurants.

What it isn't

Forgetting the environment. The Palace is devoted to keeping Lausanne green, from its hydropower energy source and on-site gardens and beehives to its loaner e-bike program.

What we think

When guests indulge in even the most basic guest room on offer here, they’ll feel like royalty. Like all rooms in the hotel, the 301 square foot Superior Town View rooms were designed by none other than Pierre-Yves Rochon, and are fitted with classic yet Instagrammable decor choices such as gleaming woodwork, sculptural lamps and dreamy floral wallpapers with matching bed linens. We particularly love the 344-square-foot Superior Lake and Alps View room for its prime panorama over Lake Geneva and the surrounding snow-dusted Alps and private balcony. Want to fully #treatyoself? Each Junior Suite Beau-Rivage is nothing less than sumptuous, with a sitting area, original pieces of art from the hotel’s own storied collection, glitzy chandeliers and fireplaces. Swoon.

You're here because

The spa is so sprawling, you could pinch yourself, with everything from a hammam to an ice cellar—plus treatments like Tahitian scrubs and Japanese flower baths.

The Moment

You’ve followed Michelin-starred Chef Anne-Sophie Pic’s career for years, so dining at her namesake restaurant within the hotel feels a bit like a homecoming—albeit one with the most inventive dishes you’ve ever tasted, including flame grilled lobster with korarima-stuffed Valais nectarine and wood-infused ice cream.
