Tschuggen Grand Hotel
Modern Marvel
What it is
An architecturally awe-inspiring ski-in, ski-out hotel with an organic spa tucked inside glass “sails” and a two Michelin-starred restaurant (among others).
What it isn't
Boring. Tschuggen has put together bucket list activities in all seasons, from sunrise skiing to hiking after nightfall by the light of torches to a wine and cheese boîte hidden away in the forest.
What we think
Luxury is palpable at Tschuggen Grand Hotel, and unlike some modern hotels, it isn’t the least bit cold. Guest rooms are as cozy as they come, thanks to pattern-rich design touches, rainforest showers, Nespresso machines, and postcard-worthy panoramas over the adjacent mountain slopes. Our favorite room options are the Junior Suites, where your 505 square foot space comes with a sitting area looking out on the slopes (including a tufted leather wingback ideal for your latest addictive ski read) as well as a “sun loggia” that’s the perfect spot for your morning Nespresso. Whichever room you pick, you’ll be Pampered with a capital P; expect an abundant breakfast buffet, free-range of the 53,000-square-foot spa, and as many trips up the mountain as you like via the hotel’s glass-walled Tschuggen Express railway.
You're here because
You’ve finally realized how important sleep is to your mental health, and the hotel has on-staff Dream Butlers who’ll perfect your domicile with pillow menus, scented candles, drowzee-inducing books and so much more.
The Moment
The Grand Restaurant has truly earned its moniker, because that’s exactly what it is: grand. Perched on the terrace, you’re not sure what’s more delicious: the gauzy sunset light on the mountains or the entrecote of beef with port wine jus and roasted onion puree before you.
