Covid-19 - What you should know

Skylark’s advisor team is here to support you. Travel is tricky right now and planning isn’t always straightforward, but our team of advisors is here to assist in every way we can.

What it is

A (fairly) new and extremely luxe Alpine lodge.

What it isn't

Overwhelming. With 56 rooms, it’s exactly the right size for consistent perfection.

What we think

Scions of Swiss banking fortunes sighed with audible delight when the Alpina Gstaad opened—it was the first luxury hotel to break ground in Gstaad in more than a century. And what a hotel it is: home to abundant amenities, from a Baroque 1780 ceiling salvaged by an antique dealer (now installed above the grand staircase) to a custom Fiat (courtesy of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation) whose paint job changes hues along with the outside temperature. Each and every one of those 56 guest rooms has a private terrace overlooking the Alps; ask for a Grand Luxe Suite for a fireplace made of local stone and multiple living areas.

You're here because

If you have your druthers (and you do), you always choose a hotel with a Six Senses Spa, and the Alpina Gstaad’s is among the best, with a cave for couple’s treatments and a hammam to rival any you’ve seen in Turkey.

The Moment

On vacation, there’s only one thing more divine than having two Michelin-starred restaurants right under your roof: an Art Deco Havana-inspired cigar lounge with a walk-in humidor. You breathe deep and an om escapes your lips—who needs yoga among sweet tobacco-scented air?

Restaraunts & Bars

Megu - One Michelin-starred, contemporary, refined Japanese by Head Chef Takumi Murase and Head Sushi Chef Tsutomu Kugota

Sommet Restaurant - One Michelin-starred restaurant featuring a wide variety of elegant fare and a sophisticated tasting menu

Swiss Stübli - warm, welcoming and rustic. Classic and traditional Swiss dishes like raclette and fondue are reinterpreted and presented with a touch of modernity.

The Alpina Lounge & Bar - buzzing center of the property's social scene with craft or classic cocktails, light bites and dinner

Alpina Gstaad’s Wine Cellar - intimate space for friends and wine lovers to enjoy fine vintages, many of Swiss origin. The bar’s large table can accommodate up to 8 for a private wine-tasting session.

Alpina Gstaad’s Cigar Lounge - a selection of over 60 different cigars stored in the walk-in humidor in a glamorous 1930s setting

Location

An hour and 20 minute drive from the nearest international airport, Bern-Belp, but mere steps from the ski slopes. Zurich Airport is a three-hour ride.
