W Dubai - The Palm
Artful and Unexpected
What it is
A sculptural 349 room hotel with a sprawling pool deck where DJs spin; a Michelin starred Italian joint; expansive spa; and a private beach with soft, powdery white sand.
What it isn't
Just for grown-ups. The hotel caters to kiddos, too, with a colorful Games Room (ideal for 4-12 year old tweens) and a children’s pool.
What we think
Art obsessives who embrace colorful interiors full throttle will find much to love in this buzzing hotel, where guest rooms are adorned in surprising motifs, including mosaic tile walls and curvaceous tray ceilings that glow thanks to hidden LEDs. We love the 538 square foot Wonderful Rooms for their custom tufted beds swaddled in Frette linens; floor to ceiling windows that open onto a private balcony; and luxe perks like iPod docks and a coffee and tea station, but rooms with ocean views are well worth a splurge. Our pick: the 1,571 square foot Cool Corner Suite, which has a snaking, channel tufted lilac sofa; jaw-dropping dining area; and eye popping panoramic views from the floor to ceiling windows and sweeping glass walled balcony.
You're here because
The hotel’s six bars and restaurants are as sceney as they get, from the rooftop tapas spot Sobe to Akira Black, a Japanese-meets-Korean restaurant you’ll enter through a trippy neon light installation.
The Moment
After a few paradisiacal hours of lounging in a latticed pod by the pool, you decide to treat yourself to some me time at the spa. On your to do list: an Akoya pearl scrub in the hammam and a vanilla candle massage inspired by ancient Moroccan traditions.
